
Alex' s recipe for:
Millionaire's Shortbread

To Make 12 Cakes
1.25 lbs Plain Flour
14 ozs Butter
7 ozs Sugar
14 ozs Plain Chocolate
1 can Condensed Milk
To Make 108 Cakes
7.5 lbs Plain Flour
5lbs Butter
2.5 lbs Sugar
5lbs Plain Chocolate
6 cans Condensed Milk
- Place all the cans of condensed milk into a pan of boiling water and boil for 3 and a half hours.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Fold in the flour and roll out the mixture to roughly ½ inch thick
- If making 12 -14 portions:-
grease a swill roll type tray and spread mixture evenly in the tray. - If making 108 portions:-
Divide between 3 greased trays measuring 14in / 35cm wide, 18in / 45cm long and 1½ in / 3.5cm deep. - Bake at 170°C for about 20 â.. 25 minutes or until a light golden brown in colour.
- When cool spread with the warm condensed milk, allow to cool slightly and spread with melted plain chocolate.
- Before you start making this get your cans of condensed milk on the boil.
- When the shortbread is cooked and topped cut it into the required sizes before it cools too much.
