The Weather

Mike Raine (April)

Everyone knows the British weather is notoriously fickle and this week has been no exception. The phrase 'four seasons in one day' has held good everyday this week.
This picture shows my summer ML training group being battered by snow in Cwm Idwal. The snow has been brought to Wales by a cold air mass from the north west. It is the Polar Maritime air mass and it has been dragged down here by a low centred just north of Iceland. It has been quite windy too which means the snowflakes have been bashed around a lot and feel like hail when they hit, these are known as 'graupel'.
