I took this shot of a Snowdon Lily this weekend while I was working on a rock climbing course.
The only place in the UK you will find this illusive, delicate beauty is in the Snowdonia National Park. It is an arctic-alpine plant and can survive extremely cold conditions
The Snowdon Lily is rare enough to be protected by law so if you are lucky enough to come across one don't be tempted to pick it or interfere with it in anyway.
The two biggest dangers facing the Snowdon Lily right now are the sheep and global warming. As the winters grow warmer the Snowdon Lily is struggling to find a suitable habitat and is now restricted to five small sites on cold, exposed North facing cliffs.
