Cwm Idwal refurbishment
John Cousins (January)
We spotted this collection of steel work and scaffolding yesterday at the outflow of Llyn Idwal on a wild and wonderful winter day. Our guess was that the National Trust may well be refurbishing the footbridge that crosses the stream and that this steel is to create a temporary bridge. The National Trust estate manager, the tenant farmer and Countryside Council for Wales' wardens responsible for Cwm Idwal were part of our annual Farmers Dinner last Friday evening but the focus was on meeting old friends, eating local food, singing and drinking rather than talking about land management. IâÂ.Â.ll have to find a more sober occasion to ask them all about the Llyn Idwal bridge.
