Common Brittle Starfish

Exploring rockpools during a sea kayaking lunch break I came across this Common Brittle Starfish recently and managed to get a photo of it.
These are often found at low tide among seaweeds and under stones, preferring pools where silt and sediment collect. As its name suggests, the legs are brittle and easily broken.
The legs easily break of if grabbed by a predator, potentially allowing the rest of the starfish to escape. Luckily the limb promptly grows back
