We found several of these jellyfish stranded on the shore, during a canoe journey down the Mawdach Estuary on an introduction to canoeing course. Hopefully they would have survived until the tide came in again.
These creatures have no bones or brains but seem to get along pretty well without either! Jellyfish are one of the main food sources of the Leatherback Turtle that believe it or not is a regular visitor to this area.
