Oblong Leaved Sundew
John Cousins (June)
It is definitely midge season right now with our 'midge machines' around the garden sucking up tons of the little creatures. On the hills we can only rely on light breezes, quick witted birds and the two insectivorous plants: Butterwort and Sundew. I found the Sundew in this picture on the West coast of Scotland doing a great job last week. We commonly see round leaved Sundew in Wales and this one is notable for being the oblong leaved variety.
