The recent high pressure over Snowdonia has brought some gently rising warm
winds across the mountains. I was out on Moel Siabod last week and the
summit ridge was inundated with insect life, most of which, like this beetle had
blown up from the woodlands surrounding the mountains.
Bifaciatum is a beetle which can grow up to 22mm long, it is around from May
to July but usually lives around decaying coniferous timber, not on the top
of Moel Siabod!
