New Mountain Bike Skills Course
28 Jun 2011
It has just been announced that Plas y Brenin have commissioned a new mountain bike skills course and pump track. It is being designed and constructed by Rowan Sorrel and the Back on Track team. The idea is to produce a first class coaching facility to enhance its ever increasing mountain bike programme. The centre has over a dozen qualified mountain bike leaders who deliver a wide range of qualifications, skills courses and guided holidyas. The design brief is to work with the natural rocky terrain to give graded, natural features to help develop rider skills. The pump track will be the perfect coaching tool to help riders to really work the terrain and be a great contrast to the skills loops which will have many slick rock sections.
Work starts in the middle of July once the Back on Track team get back from the Megavalanche and should take about a month.
