Overview 

Whether you’re a solo paddler or tandem team looking to master your craft, this course is designed to enhance your white water skills and knowledge. Tailored for anyone venturing into advanced white water environments, the course aims to make you a safer and more skilled paddler, covering all aspects of the British Canoeing white water safety and rescue syllabus.

Both days will be dedicated to practical exercises on local rivers, allowing you to actively implement the skills and knowledge from the syllabus, and gain confidence in various rescue and safety techniques.

Suitable for solo paddlers or tandem teams aiming to refine their performance and safety skills in advanced white water conditions.

The Objectives 

The aim is that you’ll be able to apply the techniques taught at White Water Safety and Rescue Training in an advanced environment, and appreciate the team approach concept that provides structure in an emergency situation.

What To Expect

Both days will be spent on local rivers looking at practical applications of the syllabus.

Experience Required 

  • Competent Grade III paddler with some experience of Grade IV. A reliable moving water roll.
  • Have attended a British Canoeing White Water Safety and Rescue Training course (ideally in the previous three years)

How Should I Prepare? 

You’ll need to be fully conversant with the white-water safety and rescue skills, as this course will build on these foundations.
