As a recreational white water paddler, your next step toward becoming a leader is this five-day intensive course. Set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Snowdonia, you’ll learn from our highly qualified instructors how to guide a group in moderate white water conditions. This course serves as an ideal pathway toward becoming a White Water Kayak Leader, focusing on real-world situations and equipping you with the necessary techniques for optimal boat control and decision-making.

What To Expect
Your learning journey is broken down into two key components. For the first three days, we’ll immerse you in Grade 2/3 white water, focusing on honing your leadership skills and personal paddling. The final two days will cover the Whitewater Safety and Rescue (WWSR) syllabus, giving you a well-rounded education in both leadership and safety. Expect an enriching, hands-on experience that prepares you for the challenges and thrills of leading in white water conditions.
Experience Required
You should be an experienced paddler with some experience of paddling on white water with a minimum personal skill level of The British Canoeing 3* White Water kayak award.
How Should I Prepare?
You’ll need to be on top of your game for this training course. Make sure that you’re fit enough for five challenging days on white water. You should also have kayaked regularly before attending.
