Overview

Our instructors will take you on exciting journeys following in the footsteps of bronze age settlers, Victorian explorers & pioneers who have relished in the beauty that is North Wales. We will endeavour to get away from the crowds & give you an insight into the real Snowdonia.

We shall introduce you to the unique flora & fauna of the upland environment and the modern challenges we face in preserving fragile ecosystems. You’ll get to see first-hand some of the most iconic mountain landscapes in Britain, learn about your surroundings in a bespoke, guided experience that makes this Plas y Brenin course so unique.

The Objectives 

You’ll have an enjoyable guided walk in good company and learn more about the distinctive Snowdonia environment. Over 5 days you will explore the very best that Snowdonia has to offer. Beautiful lakes, stunning landscapes & hidden valleys, our instructors will endeavour to get you off the beaten track and into some of the most idyllic surroundings the area has to offer.

Along the way we will give you expert tuition and advice on how to become self-sufficient so you too can enjoy the mountains safely in the future

We will share our passion & knowledge of the area so you leave with a greater understanding of how we can protect the environment and our role in protecting it for future generations.

Explore the unique environment that Cwm Idwal has to offer.

The Cwm Lloer round

Traversing from Pen yr Ole Wen to Carnedd Llewelyn; with breathtaking views of Snowdonia & the North Wales coastline, you might even see grazing wild mountain ponies on this route.

A traverse of the Glyders, aka the Bochlwyd Horseshoe

Jump on the ‘cantilever’, take photos of the infamous Castell y Gwynt, the Glyderau offers a stunning 360 panorama.

Snowdon

The connoisseurs choice’, avoid the crowds with a journey from the south side.

Y Lliwedd

Wander in the footsteps of Mallory & Irving. Snowdon’s neighbour is steeped in mountaineering history.

Moel Hebog, Moel yr Ogof & Moel Lefn

From Bronze age settlements to Owain Glyndwr’s cave this journey above Beddgelert gives a unique view of the area, from the Lleyn Peninsula to Cadair Idris on the southern fringe of the national park.
