Overview

If you’re looking for an event to train for, a team bonding experience, or simply a personal goal to achieve; the Fifteen Peaks is the one to sign up for. Join us on this five-day guided traverse, attempting to take in all fifteen of Snowdonia’s highest peaks. You’ll be blown away by the incredible scenery.

If you’re a seasoned summer hillwalker, and new to the winter experience, you’ll get some essential winter skills tuition. And if you’ve already tackled some winter terrain, you’ll be able to develop your capabilities further.

The weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, so we allow plenty of time to organise and take on each day’s activity with this in mind – aiming to conquer all fifteen peaks during your stay.

The Objectives

  • You’ll take on a personal winter challenge and attempt to summit all fifteen of Snowdonia’s highest peaks.
  • You’ll take in incredible views as you take on a total of 14,000ft of elevation over 30 miles.
  • You’ll gain winter mountaineering skills as you go, becoming more confident in your ability to stay safe in winter.

  • Selecting and using specialist winter/ice kit.
  • Skills for emergency situations.

How do I Prepare?

  • You’ll need to be a more advanced, fit and strong hillwalker to take on this course.
  • Use the equipment list and details about our kit hire service, to decide what you’ll need to bring and what you’ll need to hire.
  • If you don’t already have them, purchase personal items like sun block, lip salve to provide protection from UV radiation and the wind.
  • Decide how you want to protect and make waterproof items like your camera and mobile phone.
  • Check and pack basic clothing requirements which you’ll be comfortable to walk, stretch and climb in.
  • Remember layers for warmth. If you have your own winter boots, make sure they are worn in and comfortable.
