The Objectives

You'll have gained invaluable guidance to help you achieve the Open Water Canoe Coach Award (Advanced Water) Qualification, and have your own action plan to help your development continue. If you're not working towards the qualification, you'll go away with plenty of practical guidance to support your ongoing learning and development.

What to Expect

You'll spend day one applying the Coach Core behaviours to the advanced white water environment. On day two, you'll apply these principles practically as part of a coaching session. You'll have peer feedback and observation as well as trainer feedback. We'll then finish with an action planning session to prepare you for assessment.

Experience Required

You'll need the following prerequisites prior to attending the course| Full Home Nation Association Membership| Core Coach Training| Advanced Canoe Leader Award

What do I need to bring?
All you really need to bring is sufficient base clothing to wear, and some suitable footwear. Our stores have a wide range of Peak UK soft wear as well as paddles and poles. We have an extensive selection of kayaks from a range of manufacturers. This is an ideal opportunity to try something new if you'd like to. If you prefer the familiar, feel free to bring your own kit.
How should I prepare?
You'll need to be on top of your game for this training course. Make sure that you're fit enough for two challenging days on advanced water. You should have canoed regularly before attending.
