A celebration of the life and work of Denise Evans, coinciding with the launch of her autobiography.
Denise was born in France in 1931 and passed away last year at the age of 92. Her parents were the pioneering climbers Jean and Nea Morin. She was married to Sir Charles Evans, Deputy Leader of the 1953 Everest Expedition. Showing indomitable spirit, she made ascents in the Himalayas and, having taken up sailing after Charles became disabled with multiple sclerosis, she sailed her yacht in the Arctic and round South America, and continued her adventures into her eighties. This is the launch of her autobiography, Reaching Beyond: The Mountains and Voyages of Denise Evans, and will be a celebration of her life with audio, film and reminiscences.
