The Big Christmas Walk
December 13 & 14

The Big Christmas Walk is back! A choice of a 1 or 2 day (residential) course which includes mince pies and mulled wine, followed by an excellent Christmas dinner, all prepared on-site, using the freshest of local ingredients. There’s always a good friendly atmosphere and many people return year after year.
- You’ll have a fantastic walking experience and learn more about Eryri’s countryside.
- You’ll relax in the buzzing atmosphere of Plas y Brenin, feasting after calorie-burning days on the hill with fantastic, freshly prepared food aplenty.
- You never know we might even get a white Christmas (walk) – our instructors will ensure you get the best out of the conditions and pick up some new skills along the way
Don’t forget to pack lots of warm layers, plenty of gloves and a hat.

Sip & Paint Workshops
Guided Creativity: Clare from Sip & Paint is a friendly and experienced tutor, who will lead you step by step through the creative process, making it easy and enjoyable to recreate a beautiful piece of artwork. All materials supplied.

Relic Plastics Workshops

An exciting workshop with drop-in sessions from 10am – 3pm. You can try out our plastic hand-powered shredder, have a go at sorting and identifying various plastics with our mini optical scanner, and learn about curb side recycling. There’s also a paid experience using our extruder to make Christmas decorations, carabiners and other fun items.
Treasure Hunt & Gingerbread Making
An exciting treasure hunt for young people followed by Gingerbread decorating starting with a short walk to Bryn Engan to hunt for the parts of a gingerbread man (eyes, nose, buttons, etc.). Once all pieces are collected, there’s a short walk back to Cromlech & Llugwy on our main site to build the gingerbread man with the help of one of our Centre Assistants. Treasure hunt maps will be available for £2 from reception, and include a PYB-branded mini pencil for ticking off the finds. Event runs between 10am and 3:30pm.

Drop in Climbing

Secure your spot for a 1-hour Taster Session by signing up at our reception desk up to 15 minutes before the session begins.
- Suitable for all skill levels.
- Session Times: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM (Noon), 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
- Cost (Children): £5 per child (ages 8-15).
- Important: Children aged 8-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Kit hire is available on-site and is not included in the session price.

Brass Band!
The Seindorf Arian Frenhinol Dyffryn Nantlle brass band will be playing throughout the afternoon in our Lecture threatre.
