A month’s adventure in N.W Greenland attempting a new ‘Alpine style’ climbing route on a remote uninhabited island above latitude 71 degrees north.
Three climbers attempting a new, 1000m route on site, with hard climbing, loose rock and an epic retreat in a storm on first attempt. Having no communications with the outside world, the team had to rely on luck for there second attempt, and ascend ropes they had left behind to carry on with the climb.

Dropped off by boat with a month’s worth of supplies and kit, the team brought Portaledges and Big Wall kit not knowing what style ascent we would need. The climb was eventually achieved ‘Alpine style’ with long days of climbing made possible by the permanent daylight at this latitude. Luckily, the boat we had arranged for pickups arrived as arranged. The route was named after the long daylight hours and the storm we had to endure
