This 315km Packraft Journey from the South West to North East Coast of Scotland was undertaken in winter conditions over 11 days, during March 2024, by Marianne and Jason Taylor of Tirio, their dog Millie and joined by good friend Rich Sumner along the way.
Hear about it from Marianne’s perspective; a local mum of two with a lifelong love of the outdoors. Following a breast cancer diagnosis in her early forties, she developed her skills and pushed herself out of her comfort zone to take life in a new direction. Setting up a successful outdoors company alongside her husband Jason along the way, her ethos about adventure is that it doesn’t have to be macho, tough and uncomfortable – it should also be enjoyable! Her experience has led her to participate in this, her longest and most daunting expedition to date.
Packrafting makes you look at maps in a completely different way; always on the search for new journey ideas, this epic route was hidden in plain sight following the ‘Ericht – Landon Fault’.
From planning to completion: The Longest Line; over sea lochs, mountains, open water, river and everything the Scottish winter weather could throw in along the journey.
The lecture is free and we recommend that you reserve a seat in advance due to limited space.
