Accommodation FAQ
Everything you need to know if you choose to stay with us during your course.
Accommodation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis for the following:
- Residential places (subject to availability), where the accommodation package of the booking includes meals; and
- Non-residential places (instruction only).
The course price listed on our website includes accommodation.
If we are unable to accommodate you on-site, we will offer you our lower non-residential rate.
Rooming for our courses is in shared en-suite rooms as standard. If you know somebody on the same course as you, please let us know if you would like to be roomed together.
Subject to availability, you may be able to upgrade to a single room – please see below for details.
You can request a single room at the time of booking or at any point prior to the start date of your course. All requests are subject to availability. We charge a single supplement of £25 per person per night. If we have availability and you are happy to pay the additional supplement we will take payment for this. We will send you a secure payment link via email. While payment can be taken over the phone, our preferred method is card payment via the payment link.
Bed linen and towels are provided for our residential courses, B&B and Anvil bookings. If hiring a Bunkhouse (Tryfan, Moelwyn and Carnedd), you can hire linen and towels if required at an additional cost.
We have parking at the front and rear of the centre which is free of charge to all course attendees and centre visitors.
We currently recommend the usage of a private car to travel to Plas y Brenin, where we have extensive free parking available on site.
Alternatively, you may travel by train to Llandudno Junction or Bangor and arrange a taxi from there. Given our rural location, we would recommend booking your taxis in advance of travelling.
Plas y Brenin is based in Capel Curig. To reach Capel Curig, customers can travel by train to either Bangor or Betws-y-Coed, both of which have bus connections to the area:
- From Bangor: the T10 bus to Capel Curig (last bus 18:05 – please check at time of your travel). The bus stops at St Curig’s Church, which is approximately a 10-minute walk along the main road to Plas y Brenin (please advise care as it is along the main road).
- From Betws-y-Coed:
- T10 bus towards Capel Curig (last bus 19:03, please check at time of your travel), alighting at St Curig’s Church (approx. 10-minute walk to site).
- Alternatively, the Sherpa S1 bus runs daily from Betws-y-Coed Train Station and stops very close to the front entrance of Plas y Brenin (last bus time varies depending on the day).
Our catering team are hugely experienced in dealing with a wide range of different dietary requirements. Please let us know your specific requirements at the time of booking.
It is not possible to camp on the grounds surrounding Plas y Brenin but there are a number of campsites in the local area.
We have a number of dog-friendly rooms on-site. A charge of £10 will be made per dog.
Please note dogs are not to be left unattended in the rooms or put in vehicles all day that are parked in our car park. Due to safety reasons, we are unable to allow dogs to attend with you on a course.
We have free WiFi provided by Purple WiFi. You can log on using your Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin account, or if you prefer, by creating a Purple WiFi account. Once logged on you’ll be able to enjoy free WiFi wherever you are around the centre.
