In our role as the National Outdoor Centre, our primary goal is to encourage and support as many people as possible to get active outdoors. We recognise that in some cases, the primary barrier to individuals receiving the training they need is cost, so, as a not-for-profit organisation, we continually strive to ensure our course fees remain as low as possible. We also work with other organisations who provide funding support for specific opportunities.
Rescue 3 Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician
The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT) course is internationally recognised as the benchmark qualification for personnel operating in swiftwater and flood rescue environments.
Aligned with Defra Module 3 requirements, this practical and intensive course develops the skills needed to work safely and effectively in moving water and flood conditions. Canoeing Improver – 2 day
This course is for the competent grade 2 paddler who is looking to progress into more challenging environments. It gives you the experience and skills you need to refine technique, improve tactical decision making and improve confidence in the grade 3 environment and on open water in strong winds looking at trim, solo sailing and trad skills.
Intromediate Canoeing – 2 day
Join this two-day canoe course focused on developing the core paddling skills required to improve your confidence on grade II rivers and on open water in windy conditions. With expert guidance, you'll refine existing techniques and explore advanced methods, leaving with a renewed passion for paddling.
Intromediate White Water Kayaking – 2 day
Join this two-day white water kayaking course focused on developing the core white water skills required to improve your confidence on grade 2 and 3 rivers. With expert guidance, you'll refine existing techniques and explore advanced methods, leaving with a renewed passion for paddling.
Intromediate Sea Kayaking – 2 day

Your Day
We offer sessions in the morning (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and afternoon (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm). Don’t worry about the weather – your session will never be cancelled; we may need to make some adjustments to your chosen activities, but you’ll still have an awesome time.
