Course Breakdown

Overview

Get ready for an action-packed five-day holiday that promises a unique and memorable experience amidst the breath-taking landscapes of the British mountains and coastline. You’ll have the chance to dive into various thrilling activities, including bouldering, rock climbing (both indoor and outdoor), orienteering, canoeing, kayaking, mountain walking, scrambling, gorge walking, and even the art of building and paddling your very own raft. The only requirement is your sense of adventure, and our team of friendly and highly experienced instructors will ensure you have an incredible time.

The Objectives

Our primary goal is to provide you with a fantastic and adventurous week that introduces you to a variety of outdoor activities, all while having a great time. Plas y Brenin’s supportive and friendly environment is the perfect backdrop for creating lasting friendships and memories.

Itinerary

Throughout the week, we’ll be flexible to make the most of the weather and ensure you have the most fun possible. Your days will be filled with a range of exciting activities:

  • Rock Climbing: Learn to control each other’s safety rope as you take on the crags and ledges of rocky cliffs. For evenings or bad weather, we also have an indoor climbing wall.
  • Bouldering: Conquer shorter climbs on large boulders without ropes, giving you the freedom to just go for it.
  • Orienteering: Race to find points around the woods using a map and compass, putting your navigation skills to the test.
  • Sea-level Traversing/Coasteering: Embark on an adventure along the rocky coastline, just above the sea, or dangle over the waves as you cross by rope, all under the watchful eye of our experienced guides.
  • Canoeing and Kayaking: Discover different types of paddling on the lakes nestled within the mountains, experiencing the beauty of the waterways.
  • Mountain Walk: Aim for the summit of one of Snowdon’s iconic peaks, exploring the stunning mountain scenery.
  • Gorge Walk: Scramble up the rocky riverbed, navigating between obstacles while climbing, wading, and maybe even swimming.

Experience Required

To join this course, you should be between 12-17 years old and possess a good sense of adventure.
