Course Breakdown

Celebrate St David’s Day with a classic Eryri mountain adventure on Moel Siabod (872m) – the dramatic peak that towers behind our centre and delivers some of the best panoramic views in the National Park.
Join one of our qualified and experienced instructors for a full day guided walk on this stunning circular route. If conditions allow, we’ll climb via the spectacular Daear Ddu Ridge, weaving past shimmering mountain llyns and the atmospheric remains of historic slate mines.

Moel Siabod is renowned as an “island mountain”, meaning the views from the summit are truly exceptional. On a clear day you’ll be rewarded with:

  • The Yr Wyddfa range, Glyderau and Carneddau to the north
  • The rugged Rhinogs and Moelwyns stretching out to the south
  • A breathtaking sweep of Eryri in every direction

With March weather often bringing a mix of seasons, this walk is led by an instructor holding a Winter Mountain Leader qualification. Should conditions turn wintery, you’ll be guided safely and confidently — with technical equipment available to borrow if needed. Routes will be adapted to suit the day’s conditions, ensuring both safety and enjoyment.
