Overview
Welcome to our six-day course designed to provide you with all the necessary elements for white water and open water canoe leader assessments. This comprehensive program includes British Canoeing white water canoe leader training, open water canoe leader training, and White Water Safety and Rescue courses. By the end of this course, you’ll have a tailored pathway and action plan to become a proficient and successful canoe leader in both environments. We’ll focus on developing and challenging your personal skills, both solo and tandem, and honing your leadership abilities to bring the British Canoeing canoe leader awards standards to life.
Objectives
Our primary objective is to prepare you comprehensively for white water and open water canoe leader assessments. You’ll delve into the syllabuses of all the required training elements, dedicating two days to open water canoe leader training, two days to white water canoe leader training, and two days to white water safety and rescue training. By the end of the course, you should feel comfortable and confident in both moderate white water and open water environments, aligning with the standards set by the National Governing Body.

Itinerary
During the course, expect to spend significant time developing your canoeing skills in moderate open and white water environments, both individually and in tandem. You’ll immerse yourself in the syllabuses of the training elements required for assessments, ensuring a deep understanding of the standards and requirements. To prepare effectively, spend additional time practising in the moderate open and white water settings with your canoe to build confidence and competence in these environments. This course is your key to success as a canoe leader in diverse water conditions.
