Completing the Open Water Canoe Coach Award Qualification is your key goal, paving the way for future canoeing advancements.
Your journey towards achieving the Open Water Canoe Coach Award Qualification involves undergoing a rigorous assessment process. This qualification not only recognises your coaching abilities but also establishes a solid foundation for your future progress in open water canoeing.
It is crucial that you thoroughly familiarise yourself with the British Canoeing Coach Award documentation related to Open Water Canoe Coaching. You should also be confident in your coaching skills, particularly in open waters, which may include large lakes and lochs with winds up to force 4, as well as scenarios no more than 500 metres from the shore.
By meeting these objectives and prerequisites, you’ll be well-prepared to excel in your Open Water Canoe Coach Assessment and advance your skills in this exciting discipline.
You’ll be assessed over coaching two sessions, 90 minutes in total. Both of these sessions will include elements carried out in moderate open water conditions. In addition you’ll need to demonstrate your ability to paddle comfortably and deal with a selection of safety and rescue incidents in these conditions.
* Please note: Itinerary is subject to weather and availability.
