What To Expect
On the first day, you’ll be immersed in a moderate whitewater environment where you’ll apply core coaching behaviours. The second day will focus on practical application during a live coaching session, complemented by invaluable feedback from both your peers and trainers. The course wraps up with an action-planning session, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your assessment or future coaching endeavours.
Experience Required
Prior to attending the course, you must have completed a number of prerequisites: | | Full Home Nation Association Membership | Core Coach Training | White Water Kayak Leader Award | Your personal paddling skills should be well developed so that the full focus of the course is on coaching skills. We also recommend that you’re able to demonstrate the skills you’ve developed from the White Water Kayak Leader award. You’ll also need good knowledge of the discipline of white water kayaking, as this provides the content of what you’ll be coaching.
How Should I Prepare?
You’ll need to be on top of your game for this training course. Make sure that you’re fit enough for two challenging days on white water. You should also have kayaked regularly before attending.
