This assessment is your opportunity to demonstrate the level of performance specified by British Canoeing in advanced white water situations. It encompasses personal paddling proficiency, effective leadership, and adept rescue techniques suitable for challenging environments.
We run our Advanced White Water Leader Assessments to allow every opportunity for you to demonstrate the standards of the syllabus. This includes personal paddling, leadership and rescues in grade 4.
Over two days, you will navigate advanced rivers rated at grade 4. The goal is to expose you to different river styles, such as technical and high-volume scenarios, contingent upon water levels. Successfully completing this assessment aligns with British Canoeing’s standards and demonstrates your competence in advanced white water leadership.
Prepare yourself for two demanding days on advanced water, ensuring you are physically fit for the challenge. It’s essential to have regular kayaking experience before attending this assessment. Expect an intensive evaluation of your personal paddling skills, leadership abilities, and rescue proficiency in grade 4 conditions. This assessment offers a valuable opportunity to prove your expertise in navigating advanced white water environments.

Relevant and up-to-date personal paddling and leadership skills, as well as an advanced white water safety and rescue training course within the last 3 years. You’ll need to register with British Canoeing before attendance.
Make sure that you’re fit enough for two challenging days on advanced water, and that you’ve kayaked regularly before attending.
