This assessment focuses on your ability to function as a White Water Kayak coach, emphasizing coaching skills for Grade 2-3 white water. Successfully passing this assessment is a significant step towards obtaining your White Water Kayak Coach Award Qualification.
During the assessment, you will deliver two coaching sessions lasting 90 minutes each in moderate white water conditions. Additionally, you will be evaluated on your personal skills, leadership capabilities, and proficiency in safety and rescue techniques. The assessment aims to ensure that you can coach effectively in challenging whitewater environments.
To excel in this assessment, it’s essential to be physically prepared for challenging days on white water. Regular kayaking experience is also crucial before attending. Expect a rigorous evaluation that assesses your coaching skills, personal proficiency, leadership qualities, and safety and rescue capabilities in Grade 2-3 white water settings.
