Overview
During these two days, we will cover the ‘White Water Kayak Leader Training’ syllabus, focusing on moderate white water (grade II to III rivers). Our goal is to help you reach the assessment standard set by British Canoeing and create a personalised action plan aimed at both the assessment and your growth as a whitewater leader. By the end of this training, you’ll be a more confident leader, possessing the necessary personal paddling, rescue, safety, leadership, and group skills required for this award. This course brings you one step closer to becoming a White Water Kayak Leader and equips you with effective leadership techniques and boat control in real white water situations.
Objectives
The primary objective of this training is to enhance your leadership abilities and prepare you for the White Water Kayak Leader Assessment. You will gain the confidence to lead in moderate white water conditions while acquiring the skills necessary for effective personal paddling, rescue, and group management.

Itinerary
This two-day training course will challenge your skills on Grade 2/3 white water with guidance from our experts. To make the most of this experience, ensure that you are physically fit for two demanding days on white water. Regular kayaking experience is essential before attending this training, as it will help you build on your existing skills and get the most value from the course. Expect a hands-on, immersive experience that will improve your leadership and kayaking abilities in moderate whitewater environments.

Experience Required
A current and varied skillset on grade II to III rivers will help you take on all the leadership information covered in this two-day training. You should also have attended the British Canoeing White-Water Safety and Rescue course prior to the assessment.
