This course is tailor-made for recreational white water paddlers keen to elevate their safety and rescue skills. Offering a comprehensive look at the British Canoeing White Water Safety and Rescue syllabus, this course equips you with the knowledge and hands-on experience you need for both prevention and intervention. Whether it’s understanding hydrology and river hazards or mastering rescue techniques, you’ll walk away well-equipped for safe white water adventures.

- Develop an in-depth understanding of hydrology, river hazards, and river-running techniques to minimise risks.
- Gain hands-on experience in effective rescue and recovery techniques, including the use of throwlines, slings, karabiners, and simple rope systems.

What To Expect
Day one immerses you in a local river setting where you’ll hone safe swimming techniques and practice the Talk, Reach, Throw, Row, GO rescue protocols. Day two focuses on safe group paddling and covers the remaining elements of the syllabus. By the end of the course, you’ll be adept in both preventing problems and responding effectively when challenges arise.
