Overview

We’ll spend two days on the lowland terrain that can be found in and around Snowdonia.  We create a positive and relaxed environment so that you’re able to perform at your best.  We will assess you against the syllabus of the award whilst looking for opportunities to develop your skills when we can.

What to Expect

You’ll be assessed against the Mountain Training Syllabus during two full days out walking.

Experience Required

Before you book onto a Lowland Leader assessment, make sure you have done the following;

  • Attended a Lowland Leader training course (or have been granted exemption)
  • Familiarised yourself with the syllabus
  • Logged a minimum of 20 walks in lowland countryside in different types of terrain (woodland, coastal, farmland etc)
  • Gained a current first aid certificate, minimum 16 hours and relevant to your work as a Lowland Leader

How Should I Prepare?

Before you book onto a Lowland Leader assessment, make sure you have done the following:

  • Have completed your consolidation period action plan
  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must have attended a Lowland Leader training course (or have been granted exemption)
  • You must be familiar with the syllabus
  • You must have logged a minimum of 20 walks in lowland countryside in different types of terrain (woodland, coastal, farmland etc.)
  • You must have physically attended and completed (i.e. not online) a first aid course which involved at least two full days or sixteen hours of instruction and included an element of assessment.
