Scottish Winter Skills for Women

Overview

Develop the skills you need to feel safe and confident to venture out into the mountains when they have their white coat on. One of our experienced and friendly instructors will develop your skills and understanding so you can get out into the hills all year round. We will focus on skills such as the use of crampons and ice axe, planning a route in winter, avalanche avoidance, winter weather and navigation.  By the time you leave, you will feel more confident to head out into the snow covered hills.

You will stay with our friendly instructor team at Alltshellach, and enjoy FULL BOARD accommodation at a great base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands. The superb Country House Hotel enjoys a splendid setting on the shores of Loch Leven, surrounded by breath taking mountains around Glen Coe.

What to Expect

Friendly expert tuition with a team of like minded women who are wanting to increase their confidence and skill set for the winter environment.

Who Is This For? 

This course is perfect for you if you are an active summer hillwalker who is happy carrying a heavier bag (winter bags are always a little heavier due to the crampons and ice axe and extra layers that are required).

How Should I Prepare?

You should have summer hillwalking experience, but no previous winter walking experience is needed.
