– Confident paddleboarders with open water / river experience
– Able to paddle independently and cover moderate distances upwards of 4kms with good board handling skills.
– Looking to develop skills for the sea (wind, swell, tides)
– Understanding tides, swell, and coastal conditions
– Paddling in wind, chop, and moving water
– Launching & landing in small surf
– Planning safe coastal routes
– Identifying hazards and making good decisions
– Essential safety and rescue skills
– Marine Ecology and how to respect marine animals.
Day 1: Build your understanding of the coastal environment and develop core skills in safe conditions – Plan the following days paddle with guidance
Day 2: Complete a guided coastal journey, Contextualizing theories and physical skills learnt on day 1.
You’ll spend plenty of time on the water with hands-on coaching in real conditions.
– Feel confident paddling in light coastal conditions
– Understand how to read weather and tides
– Be able to plan and undertake a short coastal paddle safely
– Handle your board in wind, chop, and small waves
Suitable for light to moderate conditions with waves and gentle tidal movement (2knts) – The courses venue could be subject to change if conditions exceed safety limits.
Small group sizes ensure plenty of coaching and a safe learning environment.
